Competitor Entry Period Opens for 2026 PRI Hoosier 500

INDIANAPOLIS – The entry period for competitors to register for the 2026 PRI Hoosier 500 Mile Race has opened. Racers who will attempt to qualify for the fifth running of the World’s Greatest Sim Race have until Monday, November 2 at 11:00 p.m. Eastern (U.S.) to place an entry.

Since the race’s inaugural running in 2019, drivers from nearly 30 countries across the globe and more than half of all American states have battled to make the coveted field of 33. Another stout field of iRacing’s best open-wheel drivers are expected to compete for a significant prize pool – including physical and cash prizes – this December.

“Fall has arrived, and with it comes another edition of the World’s Greatest Sim Race,” says Tanner Watkins, president and co-owner of the PRI Hoosier 500. “All year long, our small team works to put on the best 500-mile race on iRacing, and today is a key milestone along the way as we welcome racers to submit entries for the PRI Hoosier 500. Come one, come all, and bring your best. We can’t wait to see you on track in December!”

There is no entry fee for competitors to register for the 2026 PRI Hoosier 500. Prospective racers must have at least a C 4.00 oval or formula car safety rating on iRacing to be eligible, and number selection will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. The number 1 is reserved for the reigning race winner, Robert Maleczka.

This year’s PRI Hoosier 500 will see expanded coverage on the PRI Facebook and YouTube pages, including race day coverage on December 13, the final hour of both Pole Day (December 5) and Bump Day (December 6) qualifications, the nightly show Today at the 500, and more.

The goal of the event is to present racers with the closest experience possible to what drivers in open-wheel racing enjoy each May.
