Is there an entry fee to enter the Hoosier 500?

No, there is no fee to register an entry to compete in the Hoosier 500.

What sim racing platform does the Hoosier 500 compete on?

The Hoosier 500 is contested on iRacing, using the Dallara IR-18 IndyCar at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

How do I qualify for race day at the Hoosier 500?

Racers embark on four-lap, single-car runs in the hopes of being one of the 33-fastest drivers. Qualifying weekend lasts two days, and you have three attempts available across the two days to make your way into the fastest 33.

Does the Hoosier 500 have a three-wide race start?

Yes! The Hoosier 500 features a three-wide start to begin the race – just like the real-world Indianapolis 500.

Will the Hoosier 500 be broadcasted?

The Hoosier 500 race day broadcast and final-hour qualifications will be shown live on the Performance Racing Industry Facebook and YouTube pages. All practice sessions will be shown live via P1 Broadcasting and the Elite Racing Network.

What are the prizes at the Hoosier 500?

There is a race purse paid out to all qualified competitors at the Hoosier 500. Additionally, specific race prizes for the Pole Award, Rookie of the Year, Halfway Leader and more are also available to win. The full prize breakdown can be found in the event rulebook.

Is the Hoosier 500 fixed or open setup?

This is an open setup event. Competitors are responsible for building or sourcing their own car setups for both qualifying and the race.

Who organizes the Hoosier 500?

The Hoosier 500 is organized by Indiana residents Ryan Schuld and Tanner Watkins, veterans of the sim racing community who care about bringing the greatest “500” experience to sim racing.
