Simperior Sponsors Shakedown Saturday at the PRI Hoosier 500

INDIANAPOLIS – Ahead of race weekend for the fifth PRI Hoosier 500, sim racing hardware leader Simperior has partnered with the race to sponsor Shakedown Saturday on December 13.
Simperior Shakedown Saturday serves as the final day of preparation and on-track activity prior to the PRI Hoosier 500 Mile Race. It includes final practice for the “500”, the Anderson Speedway Veterans 100, and the Visitor Watch Co. Pit Stop Competition.
“We are excited to bring a really cool partner in Simperior to race weekend at the PRI Hoosier 500,” said Tanner Watkins, president of the event. “Simperior makes quality sim racing components that all of our competitors should take a look at to gain a competitive advantage in 2026.”
Simperior as a company began after the founders started building sim racing components for themselves – later learning that the community was interested in their proprietary designs. It’s now become a full-fledged sim racing hardware outlet.
“Simperior is proud to be part of the Hoosier 500,” said Mathew Maturo from Simperior. “Growing up at IndyCar tracks with my father — and even attending the Indy 500 myself — racing has always been a big part of my life. That passion is the reason Simperior exists. We started as a couple of sim racers making custom parts for ourselves, and it grew into a small, humble U.S. company focused entirely on helping others in their sim racing journey.
“As active sim racers, we design everything with the same care, excitement, and attention to detail that we bring to racing. Being involved in a U.S.-based event like this feels like the perfect fit for who we are and what we’re trying to build. We’re grateful for the opportunity, proud to support the community, and excited for all the action during the race.”
In addition to sponsoring the final day of fun before the PRI Hoosier 500, Simperior is donating one of its industry-leading button boxes to the winner of this year’s race.
Simperior Shakedown Saturday is the final test before the World’s Greatest Sim Race. The 2025 PRI Hoosier 500 will air live on the PRI Facebook and YouTube channels on Sunday, December 14. Coverage begins at 11:00 AM Eastern (U.S.) time, including a full slate of pre-race ceremonies leading to the green flag.
ABOUT THE PRI HOOSIER 500
The PRI Hoosier 500 was created in 2019 in an effort to personalize Indianapolis’ Memorial Day classic into a virtual “500” for sim racing competitors – complete with authenticity that positions the event firmly as the World’s Greatest Sim Race. The goal of the event is to present racers with the closest experience possible to what drivers in open-wheel racing enjoy each May. The PRI Hoosier 500 is owned and operated by Indiana residents Ryan Schuld and Tanner Watkins, who are dedicated to elevating the event in the sim racing industry.
