Brophy wins thrilling Anderson Speedway Veterans 100

The 2025 Anderson Speedway Veterans 100 delivered one of the wildest support races in Hoosier 500 weekend history — a 40-lap sprint in Dallara IL-15 Indy NXT machinery that saw multiple major incidents thin the field before a thrilling, inches-close finish between Jason Brophy and Adam Blocker.
Run as part of Simperior Shakedown Saturday, the annual Veterans 100 traditionally serves as a fun tune-up race before the Hoosier 500 takes center stage on Sunday. This year, however, the event became a story all its own.
From the outset, the close-quarters racing at IMS made you hold your breath. A series of heavy crashes punctuated the opening half of the race, eliminating nearly half the field before the final laps. Several front-running cars were collected in multi-car incidents, including Jeff Drake, Elyaldo Henrique, Matt Hollibaugh, and Logan Edwards — all of whom showed competitive pace before being swept into the chaos that defined the race’s middle stages.
The closing laps showcased the tight, elbows-out racing the IL-15 platform is known for. In the final few laps, Jason Brophy and Adam Blocker positioned themselves just ahead of the remaining contenders, each applying relentless pressure. Blocker, who set the fastest lap of the race, searched for any opening as he stalked Brophy in the waning moments.
The final fight to the finish produced one of the finish in Veterans 100 history. Blocker made a last-ditch move to the outside as the two leaders charged toward the checkered flag, but Brophy held firm down low and crossed the line ahead by just 0.001 seconds in a truly photo-finish conclusion.
Matt Taylor completed the podium only fractions of a second behind the lead duo, with Chad Simpson and Joshua Huffine rounding out the top five in a race that saw just nine of 20 starters finish on the lead lap.
Despite the chaos, the Veterans 100 once again proved why it’s a fan favorite: fast, physical, unpredictable, and a perfect appetizer for the biggest race of the year. For Brophy, the win provides momentum heading into Hoosier 500 race day. For Blocker, it was yet another display of speed in a month where he continues to look like one of the strongest contenders in the field.
With the Veterans 100 complete, all eyes now shift to tomorrow’s 2025 PRI Hoosier 500, with pre-race ceremonies beginning at 11:00 AM Eastern on the Performance Racing Industry Facebook and YouTube pages.
